How it works

    Publish a page for a group

    One page per group, at hostnag.com/status/<slug>: 1 on Free, 10 on Pro, as many as you like on Business. Pick which monitors it shows and the name each wears in public; a target or an error string never appears.

  2. 02

    Show uptime, the strip and the response time

    Each tracked row carries its 30 day figure, the 24 h and 7 d figures, and, switched on, a cell per hour or day coloured up, blip or down with the p95 pen beneath. A certificate or domain row draws its runway instead. Readers pick 24 h, 7 d, 30 d or 90 d.

  3. 03

    Incidents and maintenance write themselves

    An open episode is an incident the moment it is confirmed, with when it was raised, acknowledged and cleared; a maintenance window you schedule is listed ahead of time and holds the page at Planned maintenance while it runs.

  4. 04

    Subscribers and badges

    Anyone can subscribe by email and hears when something goes down or comes back. The page and every row have an SVG badge for a README or a wiki, cached a minute.

Questions

Does the page show my targets or error messages?

No. A row shows the public name you give it, its word (Up, Down, Degraded, Expiring soon and so on), its figures and its strip. Hostnames, URLs and error strings stay inside the app.

Can I use my own domain?

Coming soon. Pages live at hostnag.com/status/<slug> today; a custom domain such as status.yourcompany.com, pointed at hostnag with one CNAME, is next on the list. The hostnag byline at the foot can already be switched off on Pro and Business.

How fresh is the page?

It is rebuilt within a minute of a change, and so are the badges.

Do vendor rows count against my uptime?

Each row is its own monitor with its own figures, so a vendor row on your page never touches your own numbers.
